OXFORD, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team was in total control Wednesday evening as NKU took down Miami (Ohio) on the road by a final score of 70-59. The Norse improve to 3-2 overall on the year, while the RedHawks drop to 2-2.
STATS LEADERS
·
Ivy Turner led the Norse in scoring with 21 total points on the night. Turner also added four rebounds and two assists to her stat line.

Lindsey Duvall posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
·
Grayson Rose recorded a huge game with 17 total rebounds. Rose also added two blocks and five points in the winning effort.
·
Emmy Souder had herself a day on the boards also, totaling 11 rebounds, a career-high for the senior. Souder finished with six points and one steal in the game as well.
·
Carissa Garcia ended the game in double-figures with 12 points as well.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
· A slow start for NKU in the first quarter exploded into an 8-0 scoring run late at the 3:40 mark.
· Turner, Duvall and Rose each contributed to the scoring effort during this first quarter run as well.
· Duvall led all scorers at the half with 11 points, with Turner in double-figures as well with 10.
· Rose continues to be a monster on the glass, pulling down 10 total rebounds in the opening half. She also tallied one block and four points.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
· Northern Kentucky sparked a 9-0 run to being the second half, increasing their lead to 40-23.
· The Norse continued to stay hot late into the third quarter, increasing the lead to 49-36.
· NKU posted multiple runs in the fourth quarter to gain total control of this game, leading by more than twenty points at the 4:50 mark, 62-41.
· Miami began to generate a massive run to close the scoring gap to just nine points at 64-55 with just 2:07 remaining in the fourth quarter.
· The Norse closed out the RedHawks in the final two minutes to win it 70-59 by the final buzzer.
GAME NOTES
· The Norse out-shot the RedHawks 45.9 percent compared to 35.9 percent. NKU also controlled the glass, totaling 49 rebounds compared to Miami's 29.
· Northern Kentucky held a lead in this contest for a total of 39 minutes and 33 seconds (98.9 percent).
· Rose surpassed Janet Brungs and is now third all-time in NKU history in career total blocks with 134.
· Duvall continues to be a scoring machine for Northern Kentucky, posting a stat line with 20 total points to increase her streak of scoring in double-digits in a Norse uniform to 24 games.
· Duvall posted her seventh career double-double tonight with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

· Northern Kentucky will next head down to Conway, Arkansas to take on Central Arkansas in a nonconference matchup. This game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. (ET).
