SPARTANBURG, SC – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team shot the lights out on the road against Wofford Monday evening, defeating the Terriers, 84-64, thanks to a Norse record 16 made threes. NKU improves to 8-3 overall this season, while Wofford drops to 4-8.
STATS LEADERS

Ivy Turner posted a game-high 24 points, shooting 9-for-13 overall and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Lindsey Duvall totaled 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Norse. Duvall also connected on four three-pointers.
·
Carissa Garcia finished with 15 points and went 5-for-9 from long range.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
· NKU found an early rhythm in the first quarter, shooting 3-for-8 beyond the arc.
· The Norse posted a 6-0 run to open the second period, as Turner drained back-to-back 3-pointers.
· Duvall began to heat up in the second quarter, hitting consecutive three's of her own to push the NKU lead out to nine at 30-21.
· Garcia drained a trey to see the Norse lead jump up to 35-21 with over three minutes remaining in the second quarter.
· The Norse finished the first half on fire, with help from Turner who totaled 17 points in the opening two periods.
· NKU held a 41-30 lead over Wofford at the half.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
· Both programs struggled to begin the third quarter, each shooting just 1-for-5.
· Northern Kentucky generated a 5-0 scoring run to lead 51-47 after Garcia connected on her third three-pointer of the game.
· The Norse fully took control of the third period, holding an advantage of 59-43 over the Terriers.
· Wofford created a quick 5-0 run to begin the fourth quarter, however Garcia ended that just as fast, knocking down her fifth three-pointer of the night.
· A barrage of three's from Northern Kentucky finally sunk the Terriers, with the Norse pulling away for an 84-64 win.
GAME NOTES
· The 16 made three-pointers for NKU set a single-game record for the Norse. The previous record standing at 15 made three's, was set back on Jan. 18, 2003 against Southern Indiana.
· Turner tied her career-high in points tonight with 24. She previously scored 24 points this season at Central Arkansas.
· Duvall posted her sixth 20-plus point game of the season, finishing with 21 overall.
· Duvall tied her career-high in rebounds with 14. She pulled down 14 boards earlier this year at Saint Louis.
· Garcia tied her career-high in made three-pointers with five. She previously totaled five last season at Milwaukee.
· Nine total Norse scored in the victory over Wofford.

· NKU returns to action next on Friday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. against IUPUI. The Norse will travel to Indianapolis for this New Year's Eve Horizon League matchup against the Jaguars as well.
