HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team was taken down in a close game at home against Cleveland State, 63-52. The Norse fall to 4-3 overall, and 1-2 in Horizon League play. The Vikings improve to 7-0 on the year, and 3-0 in conference.
STATS LEADERS

Grayson Rose posted a double-double tonight with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rose also rejected two shots in the game, seeing her move up to second all-time in NKU history in career blocks.

Ivy Turner led the Norse in scoring once again as she netted 16 points. Turner also provided four steals and two assists in the contest.

Lindsey Duvall turned in a double-double on the night with 11 points and 10 rebounds as well.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
· The Norse jumped out in front of CSU with a 7-2 scoring run in the first quarter, anchored by Rose and Turner.
· These two Horizon League adversaries kept things close throughout the opening period of play, but NKU held a 13-12 advantage after an
Emmy Souder last second layup.
· The Vikings generated an 8-0 run midway in the second quarter to take control of the game at 27-21.
· Northern Kentucky fought right back heading into the break after Rose fueled the Norse with her offensive scoring and tenacity on defense.
· Turnovers were crucial in the conference contest, with the Norse totaling nine in the first half, compared to six from the Vikings.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
· Cleveland State began the second half with a 5-2 run to force an NKU timeout at 38-31.
· The Vikings created a 9-2 scoring run that lasted over four minutes late in the third period, increasing the visitor lead out to 42-33.
· Northern Kentucky came out swinging to begin the fourth quarter, posting a 6-0 scoring spurt through the opening two minutes. Turner, Souder and Rose each scored for the Norse.
· NKU's run continued through four minutes at 10-2 overall, cutting the CSU lead down to just 49-47.
· The Norse kept on battling and eventually knotted the score at 51, however CSU stormed back with a scoring run of their own, scoring 12-unanswered over the course of 3:49 in the final quarter before securing the 63-52 win.
GAME NOTES
· Rose posted two overall blocks in tonight's game to see her career total increase to 138 and move her up to second all-time in Northern Kentucky history, passing Angela Healy (137).
· Duvall kept her double-digit scoring streak alive while in an NKU uniform, totaling 11 points in tonight's game. Her streak of scoring in double-figures with Northern Kentucky is now up to 26 games.
· Cleveland State out-shot the Norse 40 percent compared to 32.8 percent tonight.
· These two programs combined for 40 turnovers and 35 fouls.
