HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team got back on track Sunday afternoon, picking up a Horizon League win over Purdue Fort Wayne, 69-60. The Norse improve to 5-3 and 2-2 in the Horizon League, while the Mastodons drop to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in conference.
STATS LEADERS

Lindsey Duvall posted a game-high 26 in the contest, while adding eight rebounds to her stat sheet. Duvall went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line as well.

Ivy Turner also ended the day in double-figures, scoring 11 total points. Turner too finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and dished out a game-high seven assists.

Kailee Davis provided some huge minutes off the bench, totaling eight points, two assists and four rebounds.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
· PFW found itself with an early lead of 12-6 at the 5:44 mark in the opening quarter after hitting back-to-back three pointers.
· The Mastodons created a quick run of 7-2 late in the first quarter to extend the visiting lead out to 19-10.
· The Norse battled right back however, shooting 3-for-4 to cap off the opening period to trail just 22-16.
· Purdue Fort Wayne opened the second quarter with a quick 5-0 scoring run.
· The Norse answered right back with a 6-0 run of its own, with Duvall and Turner both igniting the NKU offense.
· NKU continued to build this run out to 13-0 with Davis draining a three pointer for her first career points in a Norse uniform.
· Northern Kentucky went on to shot 53.8 percent from the field in the second quarter to hold a 40-37 advantage over the Mastodons at halftime.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
· The Norse defense began the second half with some fire, holding PFW to shot just 1-for-9 over the opening four minutes of play.
· Each team experienced a scoring drought in the third quarter with the Norse struggling to score over 3:17 minutes and Purdue Fort Wayne not finding a bucket over 2:17.
· NKU ran into another shooting slump midway through the fourth quarter, going 1-for-8 for nearly four minutes.
· PFW held control of most of the fourth period, posting a 10-2 scoring run over seven minutes of action.
· The Norse saw its offense catch fire late in the four quarter, as NKU closed out the game on an 11-0 run over the final 2:37 of regulation for the 69-60 win.
· During the final scoring run, Northern Kentucky saw six made free throws combined and back-to-back buckets from Duvall to close out the conference victory.
GAME NOTES
· NKU forced PFW to commit 21 total fouls, and the defensive effort of the Norse came up huge in this game, resulting in 16 Mastodon turnovers.
· Davis' made three-pointer in the second quarter was her first colligate points of her career.
·
Grayson Rose continues to be a dominate force on the glass this season as she totaled 10 rebounds today. This is her second consecutive game with 10 or more rebounds, and the fifth of the season.
· Duvall kept her double-digit scoring streak alive while in a Norse uniform, totaling a game-high 26 points in today's game. Her streak of scoring in double-figures with Northern Kentucky is now up to 27 games.

· The Norse continue their home stand as NKU will welcome Kentucky State to Highland Heights on Wednesday, Dec. 8. This nonconference contest is set for an 11 a.m. tip off inside BB&T Arena as well.
