Adrian Nelson earns Horizon League All-Academic Team status

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's basketball player Adrian Nelson earned a spot on Horizon League All-Academic Team the league office announced on Thursday.
 
In the classroom, Nelson holds a 3.46 GPA as an Organizational Leadership major. The native of Pickerington, Ohio, earned status on the Horizon League Honor Roll (3.20 GPA) all three terms he's been eligible and, at NKU, he was named to Dean's List (3.6-3.99) this past fall.
 
A junior forward for the Norse, Nelson has also emerged as one of the nation's top rebounders. His 203 rebounds this year rank as the 10th most in the country, while his 9.7 rebounds per game and his 3.29 offensive rebounds per game rank 26th and 28th, respectively. Nelson also has five double-doubles and is averaging 8.4 points per game behind 68 percent shooting from the floor.
 
Northern Kentucky is currently 12-9 on the season with a 10-6 Horizon League mark. The Norse are set to play Wright State at BB&T Arena in a two-game set this weekend. Friday's tipoff is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's game begins at 5 p.m.
