CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis team swept the University of Charleston 7-0 Saturday evening, putting the Norse at 2-0 and the Golden Eagles dropping to 0-1.

- Emilien Burnel and Trevor Ball won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4 to give the Norse the early advantage in the match.
- Finishing next in the doubles match, Felipe Hidalgo and Anderson McDowell defeated Jake Magill and Krish Patel, 7-5, allowing the Norse to secure the doubles point.
- Andrew Niehaus defeated Frantisck Pirok in the No. 3 singles match, 6-1, 6-2.
- In the No. 5 singles match, Santiago Casamayor took down his opponent Lennet Stevens in a dominate way 6-1, 6-3.
- Brandon Ponomarew (6-3, 6-0) and Emilien Burnel (6-4, 7-5) also contributed to the Norse win in their respective single matches.
NKU travels across the river to Cincinnati, Ohio for their next matchup, taking on Xavier on Friday, Feb. 19 at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
