MIAMISBURG, Ohio – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell to Dayton Wednesday afternoon in its first loss of the season to close out non-conference play. The Norse drop to 4-1 and the Flyers move to 8-5.
Match Notables
- Georgi Mavrodiev and Joe DeMarco (No. 3) picked up the Flyers' first doubles win over Jorge Rodriguez and Santiago Casamayor 6-1. Steven Karl and Matt DeMarco (No. 2) followed suit with the same score defeating Anderson McDowell and Brandon Ponomarew.
- The first win in singles play for the Flyers came from Georgie Mayrodiev (No. 3) defeating Jorge Rodriguez, 6-3, 6-1.
- The final match started out strong for the Norse, but ultimately led to a setback for Brandon Ponomarew to Steven Karl (No. 2) with a final score of 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2).
NKU's next match is against IUPUI on April 3
