Men’s @NKUNorseTennis continues season against Eastern Illinois

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky – Northern Kentucky men's tennis looks to extend its hot streak as it hosts Eastern Illinois on Friday, March 5. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and will be held at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

NKU is coming off an impressive 6-1 victory over Saint Francis on Feb. 20, thanks to a team effort. In doubles, Brandon Ponomarew and Anderson McDowell won, 6-2, in the No. 2 doubles match before Andrew Niehaus and Nick Elleman claimed the point with a 6-4 decision. Northern Kentucky then picked up five of the six singles matches with Jorge Rodrigues, Burnel, Ball, Niehaus, and Santiago Casamayor taking down their opponents.

Like the Norse, the Panthers have not seen action since Feb. 20, where they lost a double-header against Bellarmine and Illinois State. They are 2-3 on the season and currently on a two-game losing streak.

Northern Kentucky has squared off with Eastern Illinois the past two seasons. NKU won both matches, 4-1 and 4-3, respectively.
