Chris Brandon signs with @NKUNorseMBB

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's basketball coach Darrin Horn announces the signing of Chris Brandon, a transfer from Detroit Mercy who joins the Norse with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We're excited to add a player of Chris' caliber to address our interior needs," said Horn. "He is a proven defensive player as evidenced by having been a member of the all-defensive team in our league. He is a dynamic finisher and we are confident he can expand his offensive game and be an impact for us on both ends."

Brandon spent the last three seasons competing for the Titans, where he averaged 4.6 points and 6.0 rebounds across 76 games played. The 6-foot-8 forward is a career 65 percent shooter who has made a name for himself on the defensive end of the floor. A 2020 Horizon League All-Defensive Team honoree, Brandon has tallied 70 blocks and 44 steals during his collegiate career.

The Houston native averaged 5.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per outing last season. Brandon was highly efficient offensively, converting 75 percent (38-of-51) field-goal attempts. Brandon's all-defensive season in 2020 saw him average 6.3 points and 8.1 rebounds.

With the addition of Brandon for the 2021-22 season, Northern Kentucky welcomes three newcomers. Sam Vinson and Isaiah Mason, who were both finalists for Kentucky's Mr. Basketball Award as high school seniors this year, will be freshmen donning the black & gold next season.
