HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Athletics announces a philanthropic investment by men's soccer alum and 2011 David Lee Holt NKU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Chad Scott. As a member of the NKU men's soccer program from 1992-95, Scott remains one of the top offensive players in NKU's history as he led the Norse to three GLVC Tournament Championships. He finished his career as NKU's all-time leader in goals (46) and total points (121), only to be eclipsed by Steven Beattie in 2010.
The $150,000 investment to the NKU men's soccer program made by the Scott Family Charitable Fund will provide essential financial resources for its continued growth.
"As a Cincinnati native and NKU alum, investing in the program that offered me so much during my college career is an easy decision," Scott says. "Soccer is such a large part of the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati community, and plays such a large role in the development of young men and women, my hope is that others in our community will see this commitment as a challenge to support our Norse."
In recognition of their investment, the NKU Men's Soccer Locker Room will be named after the Scott Family Charitable Fund and will serve as a leadership gift towards a greater campaign for the investment in NKU Soccer.
"Chad and his family have been loyal supporters not only of our soccer programs, but the athletic department and university as a whole over the years," NKU's Director of Athletics,
Ken Bothof, says. "His leadership, guidance, and investment in our program will play a vital role in the future success of our department."
