Save the date for annual ‘A Night with the Norse’ gala

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The sixth annual A Night with the Norse gala, presented by Encore Technologies, returns to an in-person format Saturday, April 30 after last year's COVID-19-prompted virtual celebration.

The public is invited to another night of fundraising filled with live entertainment by the Derek Alan Band, dinner, drinks and a silent and live auction - all in the name of our 240-plus Norse student-athletes. The gala will be held at PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation, the third indoor-outdoor concert venue in America, on 101 W. 4th St. in Newport.

"I'm thrilled to announce that we are hosting my final A Night with the Norse gala as NKU's Director of Athletics in person at the brand-new concert venue, Ovation," said Ken Bothof, Northern Kentucky University's Director of Athletics. "This is the single largest fundraising event for Northern Kentucky University Athletics. It is extremely important in helping us fund our 17 athletic programs."

Over the last five years, A Night with the Norse has yielded incredible success. As the single-largest fundraising event for NKU Athletics, the in-person event has raised over $100,000 each year, totaling almost $500,000 to support all 17 sports programs.

Hannah Colvin, NKU's Assistant Director of Athletics Development, said last year's virtual event raised more than $75,000 for NKU's student-athletes via silent auctions. She lauded community support and the strides of many local and national organizations.

The event's return to an in-person format stands to be even more fruitful for NKU's student-athletes.

"The venue itself provides us with a lot of opportunity to grow our annual gala in support of our Norse. There is potential to grow this fundraising event from 300 attendees to over 600 guests," Colvin said. "As a brand-new venue, many people in the area will be drawn to check out the one-of-a-kind space and see what it has to offer. We are ecstatic to bring the event back home to Northern Kentucky."
