INDIANAPOLIS – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team improved to 5-3-2 and 3-0-0 in the Horizon League with a 1-0 overtime victory at IUPUI Thursday night. IUPUI falls to 2-7-1 overall with an 1-2-0 Horizon League record.

"IUPUI has multiple special players. Our team competed all night and it was great to earn a shutout against a very good team. Lindsey demonstrated her quality with an absolutely fantastic strike for the game-winning goal in overtime. Our team earned an important three points on the road."

Lindsey Meyer was able to muscle past a defender to create her own opportunity in the 94' as she delivered a strike from outside the box that would be just out of reach of the IUPUI goalkeeper to find the back of the net and seal the win for the Norse.

· Northern Kentucky's
Mimi Stines (4-3-2) records the clean sheet, her third of the season, after picking up the win. Stines totaled four saves on the night and faced 11 shots.
· Ashton Kudlo (1-1) played the full 93:24 for the Jaguars in what was the redshirt freshman's second start of her career. Kudlo finished with four saves and faced a total of 17 shots.
Match Summary
· First shot of the evening came from NKU's
Madelyn Koewler that missed just wide right in the 10th minute.
· IUPUI would take the next shot in the 12th minute but was scooped up by
Mimi Stines, her first save of the night.

Kayla Wypasek saw back-to-back shots in the 14' and the 19' minute with the first missing left and the second blocked by the Jaguars.
·
Kaya Vogt fired the next shot for the Norse but ended up missing left of the goal.
· NKU continued to attack the IUPUI goal as Meyer ripped a shot that went left of the net.
· Vogt looked to test the IUPUI goalkeeper with a low shot on goal in the 43rd minute but was ultimately saved.

Sofia Wilmes took the first shot for the Norse in the second half in the 55th minute that went just right.
·
Lydia Self fired a shot from just outside the box in the 58th minute but a solid save from Kudlo denied the Norse the go-ahead goal.
· Wilmes and Vogt kept pressure on the IUPUI defense as each posted one shot each that missed high in the 60' and the 61' minute.
· The Jaguars recorded their second shot of the night in the 65th minute off a free kick that would see the ball sail high and to the right.
· Meyer looked to help the Norse breakthrough in this match with a shot on goal to the right in the 67th minute. She followed up with another shot in the 68th minute that would miss high of the goal.

Megan Sullivan ripped her first shot of the evening in the 69' minute that forced Kudlo to dive to her left and make the save.
· Stines had to come off her line a bit as a long shot from Paige Waskom save the Norse keeper record her third save of the night in the 76' minute.
· The Jaguars looked to keep some offensive pressure on NKU with another shot that would not pose any threat as it went over the goal in the 77' minute.
· NKU and IUPUI traded shots in the 79' and 80' minute as both would be blocked by the other. This would be Vogt's fourth shot of the contest.
· IUPUI looked more aggressive late in the match, as Maya Lacognato ripped a shot that would go well above the net in the 82'.
· Stines stopped the Jaguars attack once again with another save of a shot in the 84' that was headed high and right.
· Wypasek would get an opportunity off a NKU free kick but sent it high off target in the 86'.

Macy Harper posted the final shot of regulation for the Norse in this match in the 89' that missed high of the net.
· Meyer netted the game-winner as she blasted a shot from distance that would was just out of reach of Kuldo and found the back of the net in the 94'.
Norse Notes
· NKU out-shot IUPUI 6-1 in the first half.
· NKU finished the match with 16 total shots compared to IUPUI which totaled 11 shots.
· The last time NKU attempted 15+ shots in a match was one week ago against Detroit Mercy at 28 total shots.
· This was the fifth overtime match for the Norse this season, and they are 2-1-2 overall.
· Meyer's goal was her second of the season, having previously scored this season against Evansville.
· Self, the reigning Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week for the past two weeks helped anchor the Norse defense, assisting in the shutout of the Jaguars
