HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team defeated Milwaukee 61-53, to advance to a double-digit winning streak. NKU advances to 14-3 this season, including 8-2 in conference play. The Panthers drop to 7-11 on the season and 6-5 in Horizon League play.

STATS LEADERS
  • Ivy Turner led the Norse in the scoring column with 23 and went 3-of-6 (50 percent) from behind the arc. Turner added two defensive rebounds and two assists to her game as well.
  • Lindsey Duvall grabbed ten rebounds for NKU and scored 12 points during her 36 minutes on the floor. In addition to her double-double she also dished out two assists and a steal.
  • Emmy Souder secured nine rebounds, pitched in four points, an assist and a steal.
     
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
  • Turner started off the scoring column for the Norse with a triple at the 8:48 mark. Khamari Mitchell-Steen dished out the pass to Turner to allow NKU to take the lead 3-2.
  • On the defensive end, Grayson Rose blocked the Panther and allowed the Norse to take the ball to the other end. Duvall used this opportunity to drain a three, making the score 10-8 Milwaukee.
  • Closing out the first quarter, the Norse held Milwaukee scoreless for two and a half minutes. At the end of 10 minutes of action, the score was 13-12 in favor of NKU.
  • Kailee Davis sunk her second triple of the night at the 8:57 mark with thanks to Turner for the assist. A minute and a half later, Davis drove through the paint for a layup, which allowed the Norse to lead 20-16.
  • In the second quarter, NKU went on a 11-2 run which was fueled by Turner, Kennedy Igo, Mitchell-Steen, Souder and Rose. Turner swished a triple while the others respectively finished with a layup.
  • Going into the break, the Norse held the 33-22 advantage. NKU did not allow Milwaukee to score a three in the half, while they shot 33 percent from behind-the-arc.
     
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
  • Turner took a stroll down the lane to open up scoring in the second half. She followed herself up with layup on the next possession going coast to coast.
  • At the 5:17 mark, Garcia found Turner open on the wing where she swished a three. Turner's triple gave the Norse the 40-29 advantage.
  • The Norse continued their lead in the third quarter due to Turner scoring 11 points in the quarter alone. After the 10 minutes, NKU lead 49-38.
  • Milwaukee started off the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run, which cut NKU's lead to five with 5:52 left in the contest.
  • Duvall's and-one basket at the 2:42 catalyzed the Norse throughout the rest of the game and allowed them to secure the win 61-53.
  • The Norse out rebounded the Panthers on the boards 40 to 32 with 11 on the offensive side. 
 
GAME NOTES
  • Northern Kentucky is currently on a 10-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 5 of this season. The last time NKU posted a 10 or more game winning streak was from Jan. 16 - Feb. 13 of 2010. 
  • Turner's 23 points tonight was her 15th game scoring in double-figures this season, and her fourth game of the year scoring 20 or more points. 
  • Rose continued to add to her all-time block total with three this evening, and it was also her eighth game with three or more blocks as well. The Norse freshman were active in the block category with Mitchell-Steen totaling two and Davis adding one overall as well. 
  • Duvall's performance of 12 points and 10 rebounds tonight was her seventh double-double of the season. 
  • Duvall continued her incredible streak of scoring in double-digits in every single game she has appeared in as a member of the Norse, as she finished with 12 points against the Panthers. Her streak is now up to 36 consecutive games.
