HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball team saw their 10-game winning streak snapped Saturday afternoon by Green Bay, 67-58. The Norse fall to 14-4 overall this season, and 8-3 in Horizon League play. The Phoenix improve to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in conference.
STATS LEADERS
- Lindsey Duvall led the Norse in the scoring column with a total of 17 points. She went 7-of-19 (37 percent) from the field.
- Ivy Turner posted double-figures in the Norse's scoring column with a total of 13 points. She went 5-of-10 (50 percent) from the field.
- Grayson Rose had a total of eight rebounds, three from the defensive side and five from the offensive side. Rose also added seven points, two steals and one block to her stat sheet.
- Emmy Souder totaled 10 points in the contest as well, along with pulling down seven boards and she went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
- Souder put the Norse on the board with a layup to open the game, she was assisted by Turner.
- Coming in hot from beyond-the-arc, Duvall cut the net with a three. Turner with another assist. Norse led early, 5-0.
- Crowd-roaring 3-pointer made by Rose, with an assist from Khamari Mitchell-Steen. Play was followed by a steal from Mitchell-Steen who then drove through the paint and sealed the lay-in.
- Mitchell-Steen started off the second quarter with a layup and a minute later Turner sunk it in from behind-the-arc. Mitchell-Steen with a defensive rebound, passed it to Rose who then assisted Turner for the jumper.
- The Norse underwent an 8-0 scoring run and kept Green Bay scoreless for three minutes and seven seconds. Norse continued to dominate, 24-16.
- Green Bay mounted a comeback late in the second period to ultimately tie up the game at 28-28 with a three pointer at the buzzer.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
- Coming out of the half, Turner breaks the tie by converting the offensive rebound into a solid jumper.
- At the 5:46 minute mark, Souder worked to lessen the gap by completing both free throws with NKU down 40-33.
- Rose put up a fight by the net and secured the layup with assistance from Duvall. Duvall quickly followed suit with a splash from the field with just over three minutes left in the third period.
- With her third three of the game, Duvall made a statement and was assisted by Garcia to close out the third quarter.
- Kailee Davis started quarter number four with a jumper and a defensive rebound as the Norse trailed 44-54.
- A fast break lay up from Turner cut the GB lead to just three points at 61-58 with only 52 seconds remaining.
- Green Bay remained hot from the floor however, as the Phoenix closed out the game shooting 55.8 percent overall to hold onto the win.
GAME NOTES
- NKU see's its 10-game winning streak come to an end today. However the last time the Norse women's basketball program produced a 10 or more game winning streak was from Jan. 16 - Feb. 13 of 2010.
- Northern Kentucky currently sits at 14-4 overall, the best start the Norse have seen since becoming a NCAA Division I member school. The 8-3 record in Horizon League action so far is also a program best for NKU.
- Duvall continued her amazing streak of scoring in double-digits in every single game she has appeared in as a member of the Norse, finishing with 12 points today against Green Bay. Her streak is now up to 37 consecutive games.

The Norse will face the University of Illinois at Chicago at Credit Union 1 Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 1st. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
