INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky women's soccer student-athlete
Shelby Wall was named to the Horizon League All-Academic team as an honorable mention, announced by the league offices on Tuesday afternoon.
Wall, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been a standout on the pitch and in the classroom for the Norse for all four of her years with the NKU program. She posted a 3.92 GPA as a social work major with a social justice minor, a human services and addictions focus, to go with a forensic social work specialty and a gerontology micro-credential. Wall has been a multiple time Dean's List and Horizon League Honor Roll honoree and her future plans include earning a master's degree in social work following her graduation this year.
On the pitch, Wall appeared in all 14 matches for the Norse with 10 starts. She has been a part of a NKU defense that has allowed just 1.29 goals per match this season, the sixth-best mark in the conference. NKU has also posted two clean sheets this year.
"Congratulations to Shelby," head coach
Bob Sheehan said. "Shelby has always been a hard worker and high achiever both academically and athletically and is truly deserving of this honor. We are very proud of Shelby and her accomplishments."
For her career, Wall has earned 63 caps with 25 starts to go with two assists and two points overall.
The Norse conclude their 2022 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 26 as they host rival Wright State in their regular-season finale at the NKU Soccer Stadium at 7 PM ET. Fans can
