Women’s Soccer adds five to 2023 class on National Signing Day

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer program and head coach Bob Sheehan announced the signing of five new Norse student-athletes into the fold on National Signing Day.
 
KYLIE ANDERSON | ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI | OAKVILLE SENIOR HS | ATTACKING MIDFIELDER
Anderson WSOC Signee

BIO: Anderson is coming to NKU out of Oakville Senior High School after a standout career. In 2022 with the Tigers, the St. Louis, Missouri native was named to the Class 4 Region I All-Region team and was an All-District selection. Over her first two years with the program, Anderson has posted 16 goals and 10 assists over 41 games. To go with the success on the pitch, Anderson also excelled in basketball where she was named the Conference Player of the Year a season ago. Anderson also competed for the St. Louis Development Academy and was a Frontier Division 2022 National ID Camp selection to go with winning the 2021-22 Girls Academy League Frontier Conference Championships. She will finish her high school career in the Spring with Oakville.

MEGAN MOLNER | ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI | INCARNATE WORD ACADEMY | FORWARD
Megan WSOC Signee
BIO: Molner joins the Norse out of Incarnate Word Academy as a finishing forward. Over her first two years with the Red Knights, the St. Louis, Missouri native has recorded 27 goals and six assists over 40 contests. In her most recent season played as a junior, Molner was named First Team All-Conference after being selected as an All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore. She also plays for the St. Louis Development Academy and will finish her senior year with Incarnate Word Academy in the Spring.
 
QUOTE FROM COACH: "Megan is a skillful attacking player who is versatile in that she can play multiple attacking positions.  She is a composed finisher around the goal."
 
 
NATALIE NEWMAN | KEWASKUM, WISCONSIN | KEWASKUM HS | LEFT WING
Newman WSOC Signee

 
BIO: Newman is becoming a Norse after competing for Kewaskum High School as a left wing. Over her first two years with the program, the Kewaskum, Wisconsin native has found the back of the net 54 times and added 45 assists over just 42 games played. With her standout play, Newman was named First Team All-State to conclude her junior year to go with First Team All-Conference honors. She also plays club ball for North Shore United and will finish her senior season at Kewaskum in the Spring. To go with soccer, Newman has also been a standout with the Kewaskum as a sprinter.
 
QUOTE FROM COACH: "Natalie is another one of our signees who excels in multiple sports. She is a wide attacking player with pace and has the ability to take on opponents 1 vs. 1. In addition, Natalie provides excellent service and is a quality finisher."
 
 
GABRIELLA FOLINO | PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA | OAKLAND CATHOLIC HS | FORWARD/MIDFIELDER
Gabi WSOC Signee
 
BIO: Folino joins the Norse by way of Oakland Catholic High School where she just wrapped up her senior campaign with the program. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native scored 44 goals and chipped in 49 assists over her four years with the Eagles as an attacking forward and midfielder. She was a team captain with the squad and was a four-time All-Section honoree. Folino also competed with the Pittsburgh Hotspurs on the club scene.
 
QUOTE FROM COACH: "Gabi is a target forward with the ability to score goals. She excels in finding teammates in dangerous spaces.  In addition, Gabi is tenacious in the air."
 
 
SOPHIA KAPSZUKIEWICZ | LOVELAND, OHIO | LOVELAND HS | CENTERBACK
Sophia WSOC Signee
BIO: Kapszukiewicz makes her way to Northern Kentucky out of Loveland High School after finishing her senior campaign with the Tigers. The Loveland, Ohio native posted 14 goals and 26 assists over her four-year high school career. To close her career, Kapszukiewicz was named to the South/West Ohio Girls All-Star Team, was an All-Academic Eastern Cincinnati Conference honoree and was named to the First Team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference squad in 2022. To go with those honors, Kapszukiewicz was selected as her conference's Defender of the Year. She also plays for Sporting Queen City at the club level. To go with her career on the pitch, Kapszukiewicz was a three-sport standout and an All-Conference honoree in soccer, track & field and basketball.
