HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program won a two-overtime thriller behind a record-setting performance by
Marques Warrick as the Norse knocked off visiting Tennessee Tech, 85-77 inside Truist Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Marques Warrick, freshly named to the
Lou Henson Player of the Year Watch List, put on an absolute show inside Truist. The junior went off for a NCAA Division I men's basketball leading and NKU Division I era school record 45 points on an 18-of-31 afternoon from the field. His 18 made field goals was also a brand-new school record. To go with the points, Warrick recorded four boards, four assists, two steals and a block. To add to the impressive game, Warrick also only turned the ball over once in 46 minutes of play as the guiding hand of the NKU attack.

Chris Brandon is retaking his throne as the nation's leading rebounder as he pulled down 19 boards to go with six points, four steals and three assists.

Hubertas Pivorius stepped into the starting lineup and provided a spark with 16 points and four assists. He hit a season-best four three-pointers and his 16 points also tied a career-high.

Jake Evans had a career-day dishing the rock as he posted seven assists.

Trevon Faulkner added eight points to go with three helpers.
- Also scoring for the Norse was
Trey Robinson (four points, three rebounds, two assists),
Isaiah Mason (two points and a steal) and
Imanuel Zorgvol (two points).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With a new and slightly banged up lineup, it took a bit for the Norse to jell as NKU entered the locker room down 37-27 at the half.
- TTU was able to still hold a 44-34 advantage with 16:36 left to go in the contest.
- That is when the Norse made their move as NKU went on a 17-7 run to tie the game at 51 with 8:54 remaining.
- The two sides continued to trade baskets, and TTU was able to jump back ahead by as much as five with 1:22 left, but it was all NKU from there as the Norse ended on a 6-1 run behind two free throws by Brandon with 16 seconds left to take the game into overtime.
- Northern Kentucky jumped out to a five-point lead in the first extra period, but it was Tennessee Tech's turn to battle back as the two sides were knotted at 70 to take it into the second overtime.
- NKU won the second extra session by a decisive 15-7 advantage to close out the thrilling 85-77 victory.
