HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's golf team was picked to finish seventh in the Horizon League based on a vote of conference coaches.
Wright State claimed the top spot with 100 points and 10 first-place votes. Oakland (90 points) was tabbed second while Cleveland State (69 points) and Purdue Fort Wayne (69 points) tied for third. Youngstown State was projected fifth (67 points), followed by Green Bay (44) in sixth.
Northern Kentucky earned 32 points for seventh, followed by Robert Morris (31) in eighth, Detroit Mercy (25) in ninth and IUPUI (23) in 10
th.
The Norse recently competed in the Savannah Intercollegiate, with the Black Team tying for ninth place and the Gold Team finishing 16 among 16 teams at Crosswinds Golf Club's Championship Golf Course.
Miles Parroco (75-72-72-219) finished in a tie for 19
th place while
Avery Green (76-69-75-220) tied for 23
rd.
The Norse next travel to the Orlando Invitational at Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Play begins Feb. 28.
