Norse men’s golf finishes 13th at Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's golf continued its fall 2026 campaign this weekend, competing at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, hosted by Ball State University at Delaware Country Club. Out of 16 competing teams from 15 schools (Ball State competed two teams), the Norse finished tied for 13th overall, finishing 36 strokes over par.

On the 70-par course, the Norse posted team scores of +13, +7, and +16, as Grant Broughton led the way for NKU with a T-21 finish, finishing four strokes over par. Broughton posted seven birdies overall, and didn't have a double-bogey or worse. He posted overall scores of 73-70-71, with three birdies in his even-par second round.

Caleb Eaglin finished second among all Norse, finishing at ten-over and tied for 50th with seven birdies. Like Broughton, Eaglin also went even-par in round two, but struggled in round three with a 77. Michael Long went 74-73-75 over the three days, recording five birdies. He finished tied for 61st overall.

Micah Bertram and Isaac Moody both finished tied for 71st, with Moody competing as an individual, as both finished 14 strokes over par. Bertram totaled four birdies and eagled hole three in round three, a par four. He went 73-78-73 over the two days. Moody had the strongest start of the bunch, with a 71 in round one and a 73 in round two, but an 80 with three double bogeys in the third round caused him to slide. Ben Carter rounded out NKU's group of golfers with a +17 overall score.

Up next, the Norse head to Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati for the Gateway Logistics Invitational, hosted by Xavier on October 19 & 20.
