GREEN BAY, Wis. – Northern Kentucky's softball team is hitting the road for a three-game series at Green Bay this Saturday and Sunday.
Wintry weather has delayed the games one day from Friday-Saturday and could affect start times this weekend. The Norse for now face the Phoenix in a Saturday double-header at King Park starting at 1 p.m. ET. They return to the venue Sunday for a single game starting at 1 p.m. ET.
The double-header will be shown on ESPN+.
QUICK HITTERS
• NKU snapped a seven-game skid with a 4-2 victory over Western Illinois, March 15 at Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field.
Kendyl McKeough hit the first of two home runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Norse, bolstered by pitching, defense and McKeough's hot bat, prevailed.
• Northern Kentucky received 39 votes and was picked to finish sixth in the #HLSB preseason poll. Oakland, the preseason favorite, received two first place nods among its 82 total votes. Second place Youngstown State (81 points) had five first-place votes.
• Six newcomers joined NKU this season: junior

Kendyl McKeough delivered NKU's most recent walk-off home run. Tennessee Tech scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning of their Blue Hose Invitational game Feb. 12 to knot the score at six. Enter Keough with the game-winning homer for the 6-5 Norse victory in Clinton, S.C.
• Just three games into the season,
Tatum Biddle matched an NKU record that had not been replicated since 2009. Biddle had two triples in the five-inning, 21-1 rout of South Carolina State in the Blue Hose Invitational Feb. 12. The last Norse player who had two or more triples in a game was Rose Broderick, who collected two triples against Bellarmine on April 25, 2009.
Biddle's triple in the bottom of the second inning versus South Carolina State yielded three RBI. She followed suit in the bottom of the third with a triple that drove in two more runs. Biddle also set a new program record with seven RBI in that victory. Her two triples lead the Horizon League.
•
Jordan Jenkins has a team-second 15 hits with three doubles, a home run and 10 RBI.
SCOUTING GREEN BAY: The Phoenix's last game was a 12-1, five-inning rout of Morehead State in the University of Evansville Softball Invitational. Green Bay (7-11) went 1-5 in that event, ending on a high note after falling to Evansville, Creighton twice and Bowling Green. Sophomore Jadin Justman leads the team in hitting (.359) and RBI (11). Freshman Abigail Gawlinski (4-2) leads the pitching corps with a 2.10 ERA. The Phoenix, picked to finish fifth in the Horizon League, will open league play versus the Norse.
