HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky and Marshall last met on the diamond in 2015 and will renew their rivalry in a nonconference doubleheader Tuesday at Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field. The teams play at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
NKU (15-22, 5-10 Horizon League) concludes a five-game home stand with the doubleheader. The Norse are coming off a series against Robert Morris which included a 1-0 walk-off victory.
QUICK HITTERS

Alicia Flores pitched her first collegiate shutout in NKU's 1-0 walk-off triumph over Robert Morris April 10. The freshman tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 while walking just one.

Arrington Walker helped NKU to the 1-0 walk-off victory over the Colonials by hitting the game-winning RBI. The teams were deadlocked in a scoreless outing until Walker came to the plate as a pinch hitter on two outs in the bottom of the seventh. She singled up the right side and drove in
Maddie Lacer for the win.

Kendyl McKeough leads the Horizon League in home runs (9) and is second in doubles (11) and RBI (23). She's third in hits (36), at-bats (112) and slugging percentage (.661) while checking in at fourth in runs scored (21). McKeough is fifth in walks (14) and OPS (1.055).

Kendyl McKeough delivered NKU's most recent walk-off home run. Tennessee Tech scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning of their Blue Hose Invitational game Feb. 12 to knot the score at six. Enter Keough with the game-winning homer for the 6-5 Norse victory.

Tatum Biddle matched an NKU record that had not been replicated since 2009. Biddle hit two triples in the five-inning, 21-1 rout of South Carolina State Feb. 12. Biddle leads the Horizon League with three triples this season.
• NKU won an extra innings game in the first game of a doubleheader at Cleveland State. The Norse prevailed 4-3 in nine innings on Tuesday, April 5. It was the program's first extra-innings victory since Feb. 15, 2020 against Western Michigan, a game NKU won 7-6 in eight innings.
• NKU lost seven straight games earlier this season but snapped the skid with a 4-2 home victory over Western Illinois, March 15.
Kendyl McKeough hit the first of two home runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Norse, bolstered by pitching, defense and McKeough's bat, prevailed.
• Northern Kentucky received 39 votes and was picked to finish sixth in the #HLSB poll.
SCOUTING MARSHALL: The Thundering Herd (24-10, 8-4 Conference USA) have a 6-0 lead in the all-time series against NKU, although the teams have not played in seven years. Marshall is coming off a 3-2 victory at Florida Atlantic and a 2-1 series win. The Herd rank second in C-USA's East Division. Fifth-year player Aly Harrell leads the team in batting average (.479) and has amassed 45 hits and 26 RBI. Redshirt junior pitching ace Sydney Nester (17-5) has a 1.64 ERA. She has struck out 213 batters and walked 37 in 145 innings pitched.
