Dayton Tops @NKUNorseBSB in Nonconference Tilt

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky Baseball team (8-18) fell at home in nonconference action to the Dayton Flyers (11-13) Tuesday afternoon from the Bill Aker Baseball Complex. 
 
AT THE PLATE

  • Griffin Kain posted the only multi-hit day for the Norse, going 2-for-4 with one run scored and a double. 
  • Treyvin Moss finished the day with two RBI for NKU, along with one double and one stolen base.
  • Liam McFadden-Ackman tallied the other RBI for Northern Kentucky, as he went 1-for-3 overall with a sacrifice fly. 
     
ON THE MOUND   
AROUND THE HORN
  • Dayton got off to a hot start in the top of the first with a two-run homer to right field and an RBI triple to left center to lead NKU 3-0.
  • The Flyers continued to ride that wave of momentum in the top of the second, scoring nine total runs to push the lead out to 12-0 over the Norse.
  • Northern Kentucky got on the board in the fourth with a sac fly to right field from McFadden-Ackman to drive in Brennan Gick.
  • Dayton tacked on one run in the fifth after scoring on a wild pitch from NKU.
  • The Norse saw a pair of runs cross the plate in the bottom of the fifth as a Moss double downed the left field line brought home Manny Vorhees and Kain. 
  • UD continued to add to their lead in both the sixth and eighth innings to ultimately take this nonconference battle over NKU, 16-3. 

UP NEXT 
  • Northern Kentucky baseball will hit the road once again for a three-game weekend series, this time heading to northern Ohio to face Youngstown State in Horizon League action. Game one is schedule for Friday, April 8 at 5 p.m. (ET).
