ON THE MOUND
  • TJ Graves started on the hill for NKU, tossing 1.2 innings and shut down the Penguins, only allowing one hit.
  • Blaine Walters was first out of the bullpen to close out the second inning with 0.1 inning worth of work complete. Walters struck out one while allowing one hit in the two batters he faced.

  • Ben Gerl (S, 1) was next up for the Norse, throwing the final 6.0 innings against YSU. Gerl dominated the Penguins in his relief appearance, allowing only one hit and zero runs, while striking out seven total. Gerl's seven strikeouts were a season-high for the sophomore and this was his first career save in a Norse uniform as well.

AROUND THE HORN

  • McFadden-Ackman also drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the seventh, which brought Ryan Glass home for a 2-0 lead.

  • NKU capped off their scoring in the top of the ninth first with McFadden-Ackman singling through the left side to bring home Brennan Gick.
  • Tucker extended that lead out to 7-0 with a sacrifice fly out to left field which then brought Gick home for the run.
  • The Norse continued to add to their lead in the final inning, as a wild pitch saw McFadden-Ackman score from third base to hold an 8-0 advantage over YSU.
