INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky Softball saw three student-athletes, Kendyl McKeough, Jordan Jenkins and Alicia Flores named to the 2022 Horizon League All-League Teams as was announced by the conference Tuesday.

McKeough, a senior from Holland, Indiana, was named to the #HLSB All-League First Team after leading the conference in multiple stat categories including home runs (14), runs batted in (38), total bases (98) and doubles (14). She continued to compile top-tier stats all season as McKeough was second in the Horizon League in walks (21) and slugging percentage (.675) and was third in the League in hits (52) and OPS (1.076). She finished the regular season with 12 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games while starting in all 52 contests in 2022. McKeough currently ranks sixth all-time in home runs in Northern Kentucky Softball history as well. 

Jenkins, a senior from Indianapolis, Indiana, was named to the #HLSB All-League First Team after being a key offensive and defensive component for the Norse in 2022. Jenkins finished the regular season ninth in the Horizon League (43) along with ranking seventh in at bats (148). She went on to hit .291 overall (21st in the League) and totaling 19 RBI (22nd in the League), all while starting in all 52 games this year for Northern Kentucky. Jenkins also posted a 14-game reached base streak this season and totaled 11 multi-hit games for NKU. 

Flores, a freshman from Zionsville, Indiana, was named to the #HLSB All-Freshman Team after recording a phenomenal rookie season for the Norse. She finished the year with a 6-8 record inside the circle along with ranking seventh overall in the Horizon League in total strikeouts (105). Flores was just one of seven pitchers in the League this season to record 100 or more strikeouts. Additionally she was ranked 11th in total wins (6) in the conference. Flores started 15 total games for Northern Kentucky this year, posting a career-high 12 strikeouts against Canisius and recorded one shutout and three completes with a 3.55 earned run average. 

The #HLSB Championship begins with three games on Wednesday, May 11 and will culminate on Saturday, May 14 with the championship game set for noon ET. Northern Kentucky Softball now looks ahead to the Horizon League Championship tournament which is set to begin on Wednesday, May 11. The Norse will be the No. 6 seed and face No. 3 seed Youngstown State at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
