CINCINNATI – Northern Kentucky Baseball (15-28) was taken down in nonconference action Wednesday afternoon on the road by the Bearcats of Cincinnati (20-25) with a final score of 12-6.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME

• The Norse got off to a hot start in the top of the first as Noah Fisher knocked in a run with a single to center field. Brennan Gick followed up with an RBI double to left center and John Odom capped off the inning with an RBI ground out to shortstop for a 3-0 lead.
• The Bearcats quickly countered in the bottom half of the inning by scoring four runs to claim the early lead.
• Northern Kentucky tied up the game in the third inning with a Ryan Glass RBI single to center field. 
• Cincinnati reclaimed the lead and ultimately extended it out to 7-4 through four innings with a solo homer and a defensive error by the Norse. 
• NKU closed the gap to just 8-6 in the top of the seventh inning with a Gick solo home run to right field. 
• UC went on to score four additional runs to ultimately take the game at 12-6 over the Norse. 
   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

•  Brennan Gick had himself a solid day going 3-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, one run score and one double. Gick leads the Norse in total homers this season with nine and is tied for third in the conference in the stat category as well. 
• Treyvin Moss also posted a multi-hit game against UC going 2-for-5 overall with one double and two runs scored. Moss is tied for first in total doubles (15) in the Horizon League with two fellow Norse (Manny Vorhees, Ryan Glass).  
• NKU saw a total of nine pitchers used against Cincinnati with TJ Graves (L, 0-3) getting the start who was then followed by Bryson Lonsbury, Michael Bohlen, Blaine Walters, Nick Noble, Zach Haigis, Andrew Mulhern, Tyler Murphy and Ben Gerl.

Northern Kentucky Baseball will continue playing away from home as the Norse make the trip north to Oakland next for a Horizon League doubleheader. NKU and the Golden Grizzlies will face off in a pair of game on Friday, May 13 with game one slated for a 1 p.m. (ET) start.
