HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer program fought off a spirited Cincinnati attack in the first half, but the Bearcats were able to net two in the second to give UC a 2-0 non-conference victory in the Riverboat Rivalry series on Thursday evening.

- Mimi Stines recorded five saves in the match.
- Emma McSwigan and Shannon Crogan each had a shot attempt for NKU.
- Cincinnati improved to 5-0 all-time against Northern Kentucky in the Riverboat Rivalry series.
- The contest featured a standing-room only crowd, with 1,045 in attendance, for a match that featured two NCAA Division I institutions just nine miles apart.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse held off an early charge by the Bearcats and played their way to a 0-0 tie at halftime.
- Cincinnati broke the scoreless match three minutes into the second half to take a 1-0 advantage.
- The Bearcats struck again 10 minutes later to jump ahead 2-0.
- NKU battled back, but Cincinnati was able to keep the Norse attack at bay to close out the 2-0 victory.
 
FOR THE FOES
- Vyviene Spaulding struck first for the Bearcats in the 48th minute to give UC the 1-0 lead.
- Brandi Thomsen found the back of the net 10 minutes later to push Cincinnati ahead 2-0.
- Anna Rexford posted a shutout in goal for the Bearcats.
