WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Northern Kentucky volleyball wrapped up the Stacey Clark Classic Friday evening as the Norse took down the reigning MAC champion, the Cardinals of Ball State in a five set thriller.
The Norse (2-9, 0-0 Horizon) traded sets with Ball State (8-3, 0-0 MAC) as NKU won the opening set at 25-21 and the third set at 29-27. The Cardinals took set number two at 25-18 and set four at 25-22. Northern Kentucky surged ahead in the fifth and final set with a 7-2 scoring run, and ultimately took the match after kills from Anna Brinkmann, Allie Siefke, Reilly Briggs, Joy Banks and Abby Kanakry at 15-10.
