CLEVELAND – Northern Kentucky volleyball continued to look like the Horizon League preseason favorites Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Vikings of Cleveland State on the road.
Northern Kentucky (4-9, 2-0 Horizon) looked in control from the opening set of this conference battle against Cleveland State (0-0, 1-2 Horizon), building a solid lead over 10-6 early on in the contest. The Norse went on to claim set one at 25-18 to continue their dominance over conference foes. Sets number two and three saw the Vikings inch closer to knocking off the Norse for a moment, but Northern Kentucky rallied each time and went on to complete the sweep at 25-21 adn 25-23.

- Brinkmann posted yet another double-double this season, her sixth overall this year, as she finished the match with 10 kills and 10 digs. She went on to hit .429 to lead the Norse as well.
- Kanakry found herself in double-digit kills once again today with 11, and was the ninth match of the season with 10 or more kills.
- Burke continued her climb to 1,000 digs as she totaled 21 against the Vikings. She currently sits at 880 and this was her sixth match of the year with 20 or more digs.
- Tracy led the Norse in assists with 21 total today, her third match this season with 20 or more assists.

Northern Kentucky will finally return home to play in front of a Norse crowd for the first time this season, hosting Green Bay on Friday, Sept. 30 inside Regents Hall. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET) and the first 50 fans to arrive at the arena will receive a free Norse water bottle.
