HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Despite having a stand full of dogs on their side, the Northern Kentucky women's soccer program was chased down by the visiting Ohio Bobcats by a 2-0 margin at the NKU Soccer Stadium on Thursday night.

- Mickayla Kowalski posted two saves and now sits sixth in the Horizon League with a .800 save percentage.
- Shelby Wall and Megan Sullivan each recorded shots on the target for the Norse.
- NKU has allowed just 1.60 goals against average, the seventh-best mark in the conference.
- 18 different NKU student-athletes touched the pitch in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two sides played an even first half as both the Norse and the Bobcats posted two shots on goal.
- Ohio broke the deadlock and struck 11 minutes into the second to take a 1-0 advantage.
- The Bobcats were able to push another across the line just eight minutes later to jump ahead 2-0.
- NKU attempted two more shots in the second half, but both were defended away successfully as Ohio picked up the 2-0 win.

FOR THE FOES
- Abby Townsend scored a goal and recorded an assist in the Ohio victory.
- Shae Robertson also notched a tally for the Bobcats.
- Celeste Sloma turned aside two Norse shots for the clean sheet.

The Norse will hit the road for their first Horizon League showdown of the season against Detroit Mercy on Thursday, Sept. 15. The match will be streamed in front of a national audience on ESPN+.
