ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Northern Kentucky volleyball program was defeated by the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland University Friday night in what proved to be an intense Horizon League battle.

MATCH NOTES
- The dynamic duo of Abby Kanakry and Joy Banks anchored the Norse offensive attack once again this evening as both NKU stars led in kills with 20 each.
- Kanankry went on to provide three block assists in the match, increasing her career total up to 329 as she trails the all-time Norse leader Jessica Buroker at 338 overall.
- This was Kanakry's third match of the season posting 20 kills or more in a contest as well.
- Banks added yet another stellar performance to her season as she picked up 19 digs against Oakland for her 10th overall double-double on the year.
- Anna Burke covered the Norse ground game with 27 digs tonight, a match-high for the graduate senior. Burke has now totaled 20 or more digs in 13 matches during the 2023 season and puts her career-total up to 1,627 as well.
- Torie Houston chipped in a double-double of her own against the Golden Grizzlies as well with 29 assists and 14 digs. This was Houston's sixth double-double this year and her third consecutive as well.

Northern Kentucky volleyball is right back at it tomorrow, Saturday, October 28 as the Norse will travel down to Cleveland, Ohio to meet the Vikings of CSU in a Horizon League matchup. NKU and Cleveland State will do battle inside Woodling Gymnasium with first serve scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (ET).
