NORSE NOTES
- Northern Kentucky entered the game with a bench of just eight student-athletes in total for the contest. Seven ultimately checked into the non-conference battle.
- You wouldn't be able to tell the Norse were missing anyone in this one as the entire team stepped up. The game featured just three leads changes as the Norse took a 13-12 advantage with 1:05 left in the opening quarter and held it for the remainder of the game.
- NKU took a 38-25 lead into the half and held a 58-48 edge heading into the fourth.
- The 10-point lead is where the non-conference clash would end as the two sides played to an 18-18 tie in the fourth to give the Norse a big win in front of the home crowd at Truist Arena.
- McCray set a career-best in points, minutes, field goals made, rebounds, assists and steals. Her 21 rebounds were tied for the most recorded by a student-athlete in a NCAA Division I game so far this season. The Oberlin, Ohio native was just three boards off from school record, a mark set all the way back in 1975.
- Mitchell-Steen recorded a new personal best in assists (nine). Coming into tonight, the Oak Ridge, Tennessee native had never posted more than six in a contest. The nine helpers were also the most posted by a Horizon League student-athlete in a single-game so far this season.
- Basye also had a career-night in points, minutes (22), rebounds and steals.
- Blevins joined the record-setting party with career-bests in points, field goals made and boards.
- Hubert, Razzano and Blevins also added career performances across the board, respectively.
- There wasn't much rest to go around as Blevins, Mitchell-Steen and Hubert never left the court with 40 minutes of playing time apiece.
