LOUISVILLE – It may have been the first meet of the 2024 indoor season for the Northern Kentucky men's and women's track & field teams, but the Norse put on an absolute show in the Commonwealth College Opener, hosted at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

NOTABLES
- The most exciting race of the day for the Norse came in the women's mile as NKU placed five student-athletes in the top-nine of the meet.
Macie Radcliffe won the event with a time of 5:25.57. Not to be overshadowed,
Hope Erbach placed second (5:27.61), and
Mikela Aynedjian (sixth, 5:46.94), Erica Durst (seventh, 5:47.04) and Julia Hageman (ninth, 5:59.91) rounded out the Norse attack.

Meredith Goff placed second in the women's 200-meter dash at 24.53. She also added a ninth-place showing in the women's 60-meter prelims (7.65).

Sophia DeLisio claimed the silver in the women's 3000-meter with a 10:13.52 performance.

Jade Stinson also took second in the women's 500-meter at 1:23.03.
- Brayden Rice claimed fourth overall in the men's mile with a time of 4:47.39.
- The men's 3000-meter squad showed out as
Colton O'Hara took fifth at 8:41.76,
Summit Northrup placed eighth at 8:51.90 and
Jacob Line finished in ninth at 8:59.07.

Julia Pohl took fifth overall in the women's high jump with a best of 1.70-meters (5 feet, 7 inches).

Olivia Kennedy finished sixth in the women's 600-meter event with a mark of 1:35.71.

Kierra Morris claimed seventh in the women's long jump with a best leap of 5.52-meters (18 feet, 1.5 inches).

Thomas Gray-Torsell took eighth in the men's 1000-meter with a 2:36.63 showing.
NEXT UP
The Norse will take a short break from competition with finals and the holidays on the horizon before returning with the Bellarmine Open on Friday, January 19 as the calendar officially flips to 2024.
