Track & Field makes short trip over the river to compete at UC’s Oliver Nikoloff Invite

CINCINNATI – The Northern Kentucky track & field program didn't let a little wind and rain get in the way as the Norse posted another strong performance on both the men's and women's side at UC's 2023 Oliver Nikoloff Invitational inside Gettler Stadium on Saturday.

NOTABLES
- The women's 4x100 relay group of Andrea Armstrong, Meredith Goff, Erin Starkes and Jailyn Ross claimed another victory this season with a 46.05 performance. The group already led the Horizon League in the event coming into the weekend and the squad improved its previous season best by .40 seconds to remain atop the conference. NKU beat out larger programs in Bowling Green, IUPUI, Bellarmine, Toledo, Illinois-Chicago and Ohio in the race.
- The men's 4x400 relay squad of Liam Ehrman, Thomas Gray-Torsell, Noah Slone and Jacob Messer took second overall with a 3:49.41 showing.
- Meredith Goff had another big day with a second-place finish in the women's 200-meter dash at 25.62 and she also took fifth overall in the women's 100-meter dash with a 11.99 performance.
- NKU put on a show in the women's 400-meter as Andrea Armstrong placed third overall at 57.60 while Cameron Bitterman was right behind in eighth with a mark of 1:00.13.
- Sierra Kendall put up a strong showing in the women's 400-meter hurdles as she ran to a mark of 1:07.56 to take fourth overall.
- Erin Starkes ran to a fifth-place finish in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.14.
- Olivia Kennedy claimed seventh in the women's 800-meter at 2:17.09.
- Julia Pohl also took seventh in the women's high jump with a best leap of 1.56-meters.
- Kierra Morris placed eighth in the women's long jump with a best mark of 5.36-meters.
 
NEXT UP
The Norse will take a short break from competition before returning with Western Carolina University's Catamount Classic set for Friday April 14 through Saturday, April 15 in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
