Four Norse Earn Horizon League #HLTF All-Academic Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Northern Kentucky Norse Track & Field student-athletes were recognized on Thursday by making the Horizon League's Outdoor All-Academic team. Distance runner Colton O'Hara, middle distance runner Olivia Kennedy, sprinter and hurdler Sierra Kendall, and high jumper Julia Pohl all earned the distinction for their work in the classroom as well as on the track.

Junior Colton O'Hara was an honorable mention on this fall's cross country All-Academic team and earned indoor All-Academic team honors earlier this spring. Additionally, O'Hara has made the dean's list in all six semesters at NKU. This outdoor season, he finished with the fifth-fastest 10K time in the Horizon League and the 15th-fastest time in the 5K run in the 2025 outdoor season.

A biological sciences major, Olivia Kennedy has been a star both in the classroom and on the track, being selected to the President's Honor's List on four occasions while making the dean's list in her two other semesters at Northern Kentucky. She was named to the 2025 indoor all-academic team as well as the 2024 indoor and outdoor all-academic teams. On the track, Kennedy won the 800m indoor title at this year's Horizon League Championships and finished second in the race at the league's outdoor Championships.

Sierra Kendall, a senior radiation therapy major, was also named to the 2025 outdoor all-academic team after a stellar season in the 400m hurdles and relay squads and in the classroom. A six-time selection to the dean's list at Northern Kentucky, this selection marked the first of Kendall's career. In the 400m hurdles, Kendall had a fantastic outdoor campaign, culminating in a second-place finish at the Horizon League Championships. Kendall also ran in both of the Norse's relay squads at the championship meet.

Julia Pohl, a senior sport business and event management major, marked Northern Kentucky's fourth honoree of the year, as she capped off another great year in the high jump. Pohl has appeared on the dean's list six times at NKU, and was a 2024 Horizon League Champion in the high jump, finishing as runner-up in 2025.
