LOUISVILLE – The Northern Kentucky men's golf program did not let up Tuesday afternoon from day two of the Ernie Denham Classic as the Norse took the top spot as a team for the victory at the Bellarmine hosted event. 

As a squad, the Norse led this tournament overall with a score of 860 combined after posting round scores of 281, 290 and 289. Northern Kentucky finished the tournament -4 under par to claim their first win of the 2023 spring season. 

Alex Doss kept the pressure on during Tuesday's final round of action, ultimately finishing in second place after shooting a 73 in round number three. Doss led the field after two rounds yesterday with scores of 68 and 67 and tied a 36-hole NKU school record after his outstanding play Monday. Doss helped pace the Norse to an overall team victory as he ranked third in scoring average on par 3 holes at 2.92 (-1) and ranked second in scoring average on par 5's at 4.17 (-10). He also led Northern Kentucky in total birdies through three rounds with 13 overall. 

Miles Parroco jumped up into the top 15 with an outstanding final round shooting a 71 overall. Parroco's overall score of 218 saw him finish in a tie for 14th place after shooting a 72 and a 75 in rounds one and two respectively. Miles additionally ranked fifth during this tournament in total birdies with 10 overall.

UP NEXT
Northern Kentucky men's golf returns to action next one Monday, April 10 as the Norse will compete in their home tournament, the NKU Jewell Invitational. This two-day event will run through Tuesday, April 11 from the Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio, and tee times are still to be determined.
