HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program will hit the road for a non-conference showdown against Illinois State out of the Missouri Valley Conference on December 6 in CEFCU Arena.
The clash between the Norse and Redbirds will be just the second meeting between the two programs all-time in school history. Northern Kentucky played host to Illinois State back on December 15, 2019 in Highland Heights, a 79-64 victory for the Norse.
NKU is fresh off a Horizon League Championship and the program's fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament in the past seven years after the Norse posted a 22-13 record overall in 2022-23. To go with the return of NKU's big three in
Marques Warrick,
Sam Vinson and
Trey Robinson, the Norse went out and added a plethora of talent in both the transfer portal and the high school ranks for a squad that will be one of the favorites in the Horizon once again this upcoming season.
