HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program will make the short trek across the river to take on local rival and new Big 12 member Cincinnati in a non-conference showdown set for Sunday, November 19 inside Fifth Third Arena.
The meeting will be the tenth matchup between the Norse and Bearcats all-time and the first since NKU knocked off UC by a 64-51 margin in front of 8,503 strong inside Truist Arena last season.
Northern Kentucky is fresh off a Horizon League Championship and the program's fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament in the past seven years after the Norse posted a 22-13 record overall in 2022-23. To go with the return of NKU's big three in
Marques Warrick,
Sam Vinson and
Trey Robinson, the Norse went out and added a plethora of talent in both the transfer portal and from the high school ranks for a squad that will be one of the favorites in the Horizon once again this upcoming season.
The group also just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime experience in their 2023 summer tour of Italy. Fans and supporters can
get caught up with all aspects of the trip here, which included a perfect 2-0 record against overseas competition.
Cincinnati is coming off a 23-13 campaign in 2022-23 that included a run to the semifinals of the American Conference Championships and a quarterfinal appearance in the NIT Tournament. The Bearcats posted a record of 16-3 inside Fifth Third Arena a season ago.
