HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program will be heading across the pond for an 11-day tour of Italy that includes stops in Rome, Florence and Naples. The trip will take off this Thursday, August 3 and the Norse will return to the states on Sunday, August 13.
 
NKU student-athletes will have the opportunity to tour multiple Italian cites, play games against local teams and take part in numerous sightseeing excursions on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
 
The team will depart on Thursday, August 3 and arrive in Rome on Friday, August 4 where they will enjoy a tour of the city. On Saturday, August 5 the Norse will start the day with a team workout and then the squad heads to the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basillca. Sunday, August 6 is NKU's final day in Rome.
 
On Monday, August 7 the Norse head to Florence for the next journey of the trip. The day will include another team workout, a walking tour of the Siena and lunch at Villa Cerna. NKU then hits the court for the first time against local competition on Tuesday, August 8 on a day that also includes a tour of The Accademia Gallery.
 
Wednesday, August 9 is the final day in Florence, and the Norse will once again take the court against local competition. The day also includes a tour of the renowned Piazza dei Miracoli and its Leaning Tower.
 
Northern Kentucky then heads to Naples to close out its excursion. The first day there on Thursday, August 10 will consist of a food and wine tasting at Cantine del Vesuvio and a guided tour of Pompei. Friday, August 11 will be an off day for the Norse spent at the local beaches. Saturday, August 12 features a boat cruise on the Amalfi coast before NKU starts to prepare for the long travel back to Highland Heights.
 
The Norse will return home late on Sunday, August 13 to conclude the trip. Exact details and activities of the trip are subject to change.
