HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program will open its highly-anticipated 2023-24 campaign with a road trip to Middle Tennessee State as the Norse and Blue Raiders are set for a non-conference clash on Monday, November 6 inside the Murphy Center.
The contest, which is the first meeting between the two programs in school history, will serve as the regular-season opener for both the NKU and MTSU squads.
Northern Kentucky is fresh off a Horizon League Championship and the program's fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament in the past seven years after the Norse posted a 22-13 record overall in 2022-23. To go with the return of NKU's big three in
Marques Warrick,
Sam Vinson and
Trey Robinson, the Norse went out and added a plethora of talent in both the transfer portal and from the high school ranks for a squad that will be one of the favorites in the Horizon once again this upcoming season.
The group also just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime experience in their 2023 summer tour of Italy. Fans and supporters can
get caught up with all aspects of the trip here, which included a perfect 2-0 record against overseas competition.
Middle Tennessee State is coming off a 19-14 season in 2022-23, which included a run to the semifinals of the Conference USA Championships. The Blue Raiders also posted a mark of 12-2 in games played inside the Murphy Center a year ago.
