NKU MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE | COMPLETE HORIZON SCHEDULE
 
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program, in conjunction with the Horizon League, has announced it 2023-24 conference schedule on Tuesday.
 
The Norse will host 10 games inside the friendly confines of Truist Arena and hit the road for their remaining 10 conference games.
 
The Horizon slate gets underway with a single game in November (Wednesday, Nov. 29 vs. Robert Morris), followed by a pair of games in December (both on the road, at IUPUI on Saturday, Dec. 2, followed by a contest at Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, Dec. 29).
 
As the calendar flips to January, the Norse will be home on Thursday, Jan. 4 (vs. Youngstown State), Thursday, Jan. 18 (vs. Milwaukee), Saturday, Jan. 20 (vs. Green Bay) and Thursday, Jan. 25 (vs. Purdue Fort Wayne). NKU will then hit the road for contests on Sunday, Jan. 7 (at Cleveland State), Wednesday, Jan. 10 (at Oakland), Saturday, Jan. 13 (at Detroit) and Sunday, Jan. 29 (at Youngstown State).
 
February brings with it another split schedule between home and road matches. The Norse will play inside Truist Arena on Sunday, Feb. 4 (vs. Wright State), Thursday, Feb. 8 (vs. Oakland), Saturday, Feb. 10 (vs. Detroit), Thursday, Feb. 22 (vs. Cleveland State) and Sunday, Feb. 25 vs. IUPUI. NKU's road contests include Wednesday, Feb. 14 (at Green Bay), Saturday, Feb. 17 (at Milwaukee) and Wednesday, Feb. 28 (at Robert Morris).
 
The regular-season finale for the Norse is set for Saturday, March 2 will a short trip to rival Wright State.
 
All times for these contests will be announced in the near future.
 
The Horizon League is implementing an enhanced approach to its men's basketball schedules for the upcoming 2023-24 campaign in a major move for student-athletes, fans and supporters.
 
The benefits of the new model include:

• Better student-athlete experience: minimizes missed class time and maximizes recovery time.
• More sustainability: keeping strategic geographic road trips to minimize travel costs.
• More competitive equity: a team's schedule is no longer dependent on former travel partner's facility conflicts; minimizes extended stretches of road games and time away from home.
• Basketball excellence: better positions League champion for an improved seed path; better positions student-athletes to play at peak performance throughout the entirety of League schedule.

The Horizon League men's basketball schedule will feature a 20-game double-round robin slate, with an 11-week schedule starting on Nov. 29 for up to two games, before resuming on Dec. 28.

The regular-season finale is set for March 2 for all Horizon programs with the opening rounds of the Horizon League Basketball Championships to take place on March 5 and 7. The Norse and the rest of the conference are shooting for the conference crown, which will be awarded following the Horizon Semifinals and Championship games in Indianapolis on March 11-12.
 
More importantly for NKU fans throughout the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area, the Norse will play just four games on Sunday this year, with the two home Sunday contests set for Feb. 4 vs. Wright State (the week between the AFC/NFC Championships and Super Bowl) and Feb. 25 against IUPUI (the NFL season has ended). The schedule is also much more balanced, with extended breaks away from home a thing of the past.
