HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball program is hosting its first home tournament since 2018-19 as the Norse will welcome NCAA Tournament team Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Long Island University to Highland Heights over the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
The holiday tournament will run Wednesday, November 22 through Saturday, November 25 inside Truist Arena. The three teams will all take off to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 24.
 
NKU will take on A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, November 22 and LIU on Saturday, November 25. The Islanders and Sharks will meet for a battle on Friday, November 24.
 
The clash between the Norse and Islanders, both NCAA Tournament squads in 2022-23, will be the first meeting between the two programs in school history. NKU's contest with LIU will also be the first meeting between the two programs all-time.
 
Northern Kentucky is fresh off a Horizon League Championship and the program's fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament in the past seven years after the Norse posted a 22-13 record overall in 2022-23. To go with the return of NKU's big three in Marques Warrick, Sam Vinson and Trey Robinson, the Norse went out and added a plethora of talent in both the transfer portal and from the high school ranks for a squad that will be one of the favorites in the Horizon once again this upcoming season.
 
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is coming off a 24-11 year in 2022-23, which included winning both the regular season and tournament Southland Championships and an opening-round victory in the NCAA Tournament. The Islanders have now made it to March Madness for two straight seasons after the team also won the 2021-22 Southland title.
 
Long Island University, members of the Northeast Conference, is coming off a rebuilding year last season. The Sharks went 16-14 in 2021-22, that included a run to the NEC semifinals.
