CINCINNATI – The Northern Kentucky volleyball program was taken down in an intense non-conference battle with local rival Xavier University Thursday evening inside the Cintas Center by a final score of 3-1.

Abby Kanakry and
Ava Hoying led the Norse offense tonight against the Musketeers as Kanakry posted 11 kills while Hoying tallied 10 overall. Kanakry added two blocks, one dig and one assist to her stat sheet as well.

Katy Yopko guided the NKU offensive attack with 24 assists in the contest, while chipping in eight digs and one service ace.
Torie Houston provided 15 assists of her own, along with one ace as well.

Joy Banks and
Allie Siefke each totaled four blocks in this matchup against Xavier to led NKU at the net. Banks also added 12 digs, nine kills and two aces in the game.

Northern Kentucky volleyball turns right around and hits the court again tomorrow evening as the Norse will face non-conference foe Kennesaw State from Cincinnati, Ohio on the campus of Xavier University. This matchup set for a 6 p.m. (ET) start time on Friday, September 15, will get underway inside the Cintas Center as well.
