YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky women's basketball program made the trip to Youngstown and left with a big conference victory as the Norse knocked off the Penguins, 62-56 inside the Beeghly Center on Wednesday night.

NORSE NOTES
- Blevins was a huge force behind the Norse offensive attack as she posted 20 points on an 8-of-14 night from the field (57.1 percent). She also set a season and career high with four steals.
- McCray posted her fourth consecutive double-double as she finished with 13 points and 12 assists. The standout freshman center also added a career-best five helpers. Over her last four games, McCray has averaged 19.5 points and 12 boards per contest. She is now the only Horizon League student-athlete in the conference to average more than 10 rebounds a game.
- Hubert chipped in nine points and tied her season-best in made three's (three).
- Mitchell-Steen had a complete game with nine points, three boards, two helpers, two swipes and a block.

Kennedy Igo went a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, en route to six points.

Kailee Davis (three points, three assists, two rebounds) and
Kalissa Lacy (two points, one board) also contributed for the Norse.
- Youngstown State jumped out to a 16-13 after the first quarter of play.
- The Norse answered right back and controlled the next 20 minutes of action. After a 21-9 second period, NKU took a 44-28 lead into the half. Northern Kentucky held Youngstown State scoreless for the final 6:58 of the second quarter. The Norse then extended their advantage to 57-44 after the third.
- Scoring cooled off for Northern Kentucky in the final frame, but the damage was already done as the Norse collected the 62-56 victory, their second conference win of the season.
