Norse Offense Stifled in Loss to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - After facing a tough challenge in Middle Tennessee to open the season on Monday, Northern Kentucky Women's Basketball faced another great squad in #22 Kentucky. The height of the Wildcats made a big difference in the contest, as Kentucky tallied 16 blocks on the night, and limited the Norse to 41 points while shooting 26.2% from the field.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Kalissa Lacy led the Norse in scoring, putting up ten points on the night. Lacy hit a pair of threes, including one in the third quarter with her foot on the midcourt logo. Lacy also had two assists on the night. 
- Abby Wolterman put up eight points and four rebounds while shooting a perfect four of four at the charity stripe. 
- Kamora Morgan tallied six points off the bench, with her first two buckets coming early, helping tie the game at five, and her following bucket tied the game at seven. 
- The Norse only recorded ten turnovers in the game, just two more than Kentucky, but lost the rebound battle 52-34 on the night. NKU was able to get to the line more than the Wildcats, recording ten free throw attempts compared to Kentucky's seven.
