HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program is on a run for the record books and the Norse stuck to their winning ways with an 18-13 comeback victory over Ohio at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

Cleary Simpson led the way with another huge game as he went 1-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a walk.

Treyvin Moss was right behind him with a 3-for-5 performance of his own that included three RBI, two runs scored and a base on balls. Moss is currently tied for second in the Horizon in hits (31), third in runs scored (24), and fourth in batting average (.392).

Liam McFadden-Ackman completed the triple-threat at the top of the lineup with a 2-for-4 outing that features a homer, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk.
- Simpson and McFadden-Ackman are tied for the conference lead in runs scored (25).
- McFadden-Ackman also leads the conference in home runs (10), RBI (36), slugging percentage (.886) and on-base plus slugging percentage (1.386) to go with being tied for third in the conference in on-base percentage and tied for fourth in batting average (.392).
- The top three hitters in the lineup from NKU combined to go 6-of-14 (.428) with two home runs, nine RBI, six runs scored and three walks.

Ryan Kilpatrick went off for a 3-of-4 game of his own to go with two RBI, three runs scored and a base on balls.

Zack Minton added a solo blast to complete the 1-for-2 day with the solo shot.

Mitch Wood (one RBI) and
Tyler Shaneyfelt (one RBI) helped round out the NKU attack.

Jake Altman was the fourth Norse of the afternoon to post a multi-hit game as he went 2-for-4 at the dish with two runs scored and a walk.

Andrew Mulhern picked up the win on the mound as he threw two scoreless innings of relief. He also just a single base hit to go with a strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse jumped out to an 8-1 lead after the first inning of play, highlighted by a three-run shot by Simpson in the bottom of the first to give NKU the early advantage.
- Ohio tried to answer with four runs in the top of the second to make it an 8-5 game.
- Northern Kentucky responded right back off a Kilpatrick RBI up the middle in the bottom half of the inning to push it to 9-5 NKU.
- The Bobcats got another run in the top of the third, but the Norse answered right back in the bottom of the fourth to make it 10-6.
- Ohio made its move with a three-run top of the sixth and a three-run top of the seventh to retake a 12-10 edge.
- Once again, Northern Kentucky was up to the challenge with four more runs in both the bottom of the seventh and eighth to jump back ahead 18-12.
- Ohio got one more run in the top of the ninth, but by then the damage as already done and NKU kept to its winning ways with the 18-13 victory.

The Norse will remain in Highland Heights for an important Horizon League showdown with Milwaukee in a weekend series that runs Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24. The three-game slate will get underway with a first pitch of 2 PM ET on Friday and the
