ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program found itself on the wrong side of an extra-inning thriller as Oakland collected a 10-9 walk off win in a Horizon League battle at the Oakland Baseball Field on Sunday.

Logen Devenport led the way for the Norse with a career-outing as he went 4-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored. The four hits were the most recorded by the sophomore in a single game so far during his collegiate career.

Cleary Simpson (2-for-4, one run, two walks) and
Treyvin Moss (3-for-7, one steal) set the tone at the top of the order with two RBI apiece, respectively.

Liam McFadden-Ackman sent the game to extra-innings with his solo blast that rounded out a 1-for-5 day at the dish with one RBI, one run and two bases on ball.

Colton Kucera (2-for-5, one run scored, one walk) also chipped in a RBI for NKU.

Tyler Shaneyfelt (2-for-3, two runs scored, three walks),
Jake Paulick (three bases on balls, one run) and
John Odom (1-for-5, one run scored) also came around to score.

Tanner Gillis made his return to the mound as he went three innings with two strikeouts. He allowed just one hit and one earned run in his first action since March 28.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was a back-and-forth affair as each side took turns delivering blows to the other.
- Oakland got on the board first in the bottom of the third to jump ahead 1-0.
- Northern Kentucky answered right back with two runs in the top of the fourth off RBI singles by Kucer and Devenport to make it a 2-1 game.
- The Golden Grizzlies tied things up at 2-2 with another run in the bottom of the fifth.
- NKU went back on top once again with a RBI from Moss in the top of the sixth to push Northern Kentucky back ahead, 3-2.
- Oakland responded right back with two runs of its own in the bottom half of the frame to retake a 4-3 advantage.
- It was the Norse's turn to land another blow with a four-run top of the seventh to give Northern Kentucky a 7-4 lead.
- Once again, the Golden Grizzlies fought right back with five runs in the bottom of the inning to retake a 9-7 edge.
- The Norse started to chip away with another run in the top of the eighth to make it a 9-8 contest as the game headed into the final frame.
- McFadden-Ackman made sure the game was headed to extras with a solo blast to tie things at 9-9 in the top of the ninth.
- Oakland landed the last punch with a single run in the bottom of the tenth to walk off with the 10-9 victory.
