FRANKLIN, Wis. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program got right back to its winning ways with a 14-10 victory over Horizon League foe Milwaukee in a conference clash at Franklin Field on Friday.
With the win, NKU took a one-game lead in the conference as the Norse reach the homestretch of their campaign.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The trio of
Cleary Simpson (1-for-5, 2 RBI, two runs scored),
Treyvin Moss (3-for-6, one RBI, two runs) and
Liam McFadden-Ackman (3-for-5, two RBI, one run scored, one walk) set the tone at the top of the order once again for the Norse.
- McFadden-Ackman continues his run at the Horizon League triple crown as he leads the conference in home runs (17), RBI (65) and batting average (.422).
- The bottom of the order also had a day with a perfect outing from
Jake Altman (3-for-3, 2 RBI, three runs scored and two walks) to go with big performances from
Logen Devenport (1-for-3, two RBI, one run) and
Brennan Rowe (2-for-5, three RBI, one run scored).

Tyler Shaneyfelt (2-for-4, one RBI, game-best three runs) and
Jake Paulick (one RBI, one run scored) chipped in as well in the win.

Jared Teke picked up the victory on the mound, his first of the season and of his career, with 2.2 shutout innings. He struck out two batters and only allowed a single hit against.

Jake Johnson also threw a scoreless frame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead with two runs in the first and another in the second.
- The Panthers took over with a five-run bottom of the third to make it a 5-3 game.
- Northern Kentucky retook the lead with three runs in the top of the fifth, but Milwaukee answered right back with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to move back ahead at 9-6.
- NKU dropped five runs in the seventh, two runs in the eighth and another one in the ninth to retake a 14-9 edge.
- Milwaukee tried to battle back with a run in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little, too late as the Norse closed out the 14-10 win.
NEXT UP
The Norse and Panthers will get right back to it with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27. The twin bill will get underway at 12:35 PM ET and can be seen nationwide on ESPN+. Impending inclement weather moved what was one contest each on Saturday and Sunday to a doubleheader on Saturday at Franklin Field.
