FRANKLIN, Wis. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program was tripped up in a Horizon League twin bill at conference foe Milwaukee on Saturday.
THE BASICS – GAME ONE
FINAL: Northern Kentucky – 4, Milwaukee – 10 (9 innings)

Mitch Wood (2-for-4, one home run, one RBI, one run scored),
Cleary Simpson (2-for-4, one RBI, one run, one walk),
Liam McFadden-Ackman (1-for-5, one RBI) and
Jake Altman (1-for-4, one RBI, one run scored) teamed up to provide the Norse offense in this one.

Tyler Shaneyfelt also added a 2-for-4 showing with a run scored and a stolen base.

Aaron Boster closed the game out with two scoreless innings in relief to go with two strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern Kentucky got on the board first with a run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
- Milwaukee dropped three runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it a 3-1 game.
- NKU answered back with a run in the top of the third to move the contest back to 3-2.
- The Panthers added three runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth and another in the sixth to pull ahead at 10-3.
- The Norse pushed two more runs across in the top of the seventh but couldn't get anything else going as Milwaukee sealed the 10-4 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The top of the order accounted for most of the Norse offense in the series finale.

Tyler Shaneyfelt set the tone at the top of the order with a 2-fo-4 game that included two RBI and two runs scored.

Treyvin Moss added a 2-for-4 outing with one RBI and a run.

Liam McFadden-Ackman chipped in a 1-for-3 effort with two RBI.

Colton Kucera (1-for-2, one run scored) and
Brennan Rowe (one run) also came around to score for the Norse.

Jake Johnson and
Aaron Massie both finished with a scoreless inning in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Milwaukee jumped out to an 8-0 lead with an eight-run bottom of the second.
- Northern Kentucky responded right back with four runs of its own in the top of the third to halve the Panthers edge to 8-4.
- Milwaukee punched right back with three runs in the bottom half of the frame, two more in the fourth and another four in the sixth to put the game out of reach at 17-4.
- NKU added another run in the top of the seventh, but by then the damage was already done as the Panthers sealed the 17-5 win.
NEXT UP
The Norse hit the road for a non-conference showdown with Louisville on Tuesday, April 30. First pitch against the Cardinals is set for 6 PM ET and the game will be played in front of a national audience on ACC Network +.
