LOUISVILLE – The Northern Kentucky baseball program put a scare into the ACC's Louisville, but in the end the Norse found themselves on the wrong side of an 11-7 decision in a non-conference, mid-week battle on Tuesday.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Northern Kentucky blasted four home runs in the contest.

Logen Devenport (1-for-4, two RBI, one run scored),
Mitch Wood (1-for-5, one RBI, one run),
Jake Paulick (1-for-4, one RBI, one run scored) and
Brennan Rowe (1-for-2, one RBI, one run) all left the building in this one.

Liam McFadden-Ackman also added a RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Louisville got on the board right away with a run in the bottom of the first.
- Northern Kentucky took the lead in the top of the third as Paulick and Rowe teamed up for two solo shots to make it a 2-1 game.
- The Cardinals answered right back with five runs in the bottom of the third to retake a 6-2 advantage.
- NKU added three runs in the top of the fourth as a Wood solo home run was followed up by a Devenport two-run blast to cut the Louisville lead to 6-5.
- Louisville responded again with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the fifth to push it to a 9-5 edge.
- Northern Kentucky added a run in the sixth and ninth, but Louisville also dropped two in the seventh to close out the 11-7 win.
NEXT UP
The Norse return home for a Horizon League series against conference foe Youngstown State that gets underway on Friday, May 3. First pitch is set for 2 PM ET and admission to the conference clash is free of charge.
