Tate continues pro career; inks with Amics Castello of the Spanish professional league

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Former Northern Kentucky basketball standout Jalen Tate is the latest Norse to continue his pro career as he inked with Amics Castello of the Primera FEB, the second division of the Spanish basketball league.

Tate spent the past year with the Stella Artois Leuven Bears out of the Belgian Pro Basketball League. In 18 games, he posted a line of 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals per contest to go along with leading his squad in helpers. Tate also played two games in the Pro Basketball League, where he recorded 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 swipes per contest.

In 2023, Tate played both in the states and overseas. He suited up for Carme's Crew (Ohio State Alumni) in the U.S. semi-pro league, The Basketball Tournament, and he also won the Kosovo League Championship during his time in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. To conclude the year, Tate was voted EuroBasket.com's All-Balkan League Forward of the Year.

Since his time at NKU, Tate has gone on to play in the professional ranks in five different countries across North America, Europe and South America to go with time with the Houston Rockets in the NBA Summer League.

Tate, a Pickerington, Ohio native, led the Norse to two straight Horizon League Tournament Championships in 2019 and 2020. He was named the Horizon League Championship MVP in 2020 to go with All-Horizon League First Team (2019), Second Team (2018), Third Team (2020) and Lou Henson Preseason Watch List honors (2019).
